  3. Coffee is the highest most chemically processed foods. Totally acidic and terrible for kidneys. And beets are full of oxilates also bad for kidneys. Carbonated water is also a bad tip.

  4. Hi doc, what about people who have to take medications for other illnesses like antidepressants, etc. These must be hard on the kidneys. My sister had one cyst on her kidney in 2014 . That one is still the same- has not shrunk or enlarged and it is being watched. however, recently she did a test and lots of other simple cysts have joined the one that she had. Kidney function is normal. I think they will send her to a urologist soon.

  7. Home squeezed juices/smoothies with no added sugar are ok. For people with no kidney issues.
Store bought juices/smoothies may be questionable due to added sugar.

  8. Could you provide a citation to a peer reviewed scientific article that concludes that clear diet soda (Diet Sprite, for example) contributes to kidney disease? You generalize this issue at 00:53 into the video and, even worse, specifically showing a can of soda pouring out granulated sugar instead of a liquid, at 01:04, where you indicate that "all of these things can increase your risk of obesity, diabetes, and high blood pressure." Since you are a doctor, do you feel these generalizations are ethical? Also, as a health care provider, is it ethical for you to delete my sincere question here – thinking about your "Do no harm" oath?

  9. It says in Multiple Articles Water can be hard on the Kidneys IF/WHEN Individual has Stage 1 Hypertension-ESRD. Im at Hypertension Stage 1 NO thanks to Type 1 Diabetes Militus for the past 12 years. Im 45 so obviously I wasnt norn with T1DM. So again Id like to know what can I drink safely?

  10. Does lemon really dissolve kidney stones? What about, water with a spritz of lemon? Of course, if you have kidney stones, you should also consult a doctor. The water where I live is really bitter. It's difficult to drink it plain.
