Moringa Leaf Sandwiches (•‿•) ♥
Moringa Tree (Moringa oleifera)
I’ve junior Moringa bushes, in pots, they usually appear to be rising at a tremendous velocity. The leaves are stated to be stuffed with vitamins, and I’m right here seen harvesting and utilizing the shredded Moringa leaves as “lettuce” in my Moringa Leaf Sandwich.
The resultant sandwich–with some added pepper and salt–turned out tasty sufficient. I’ll positively make them once more!
Wikipedia says of Moringa oleifera:
“Much of the plant is edible by humans or by farm animals. The leaves are rich in protein, vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin C and minerals. One hundred grams of fresh Moringa leaves have: 2 times the protein of 100 g yogurt (Moringa 8.3 g, yogurt 3.8 g); 4 times the calcium of 100 g milk (Moringa 434 mg, whole cow milk 120 mg); the same potassium as 100 g banana (Moringa 404 mg, banana 376 mg); the same vitamin A as 100 gm carrot (Moringa 738 μg, carrot 713 μg); 3 times the vitamin C of 100 g orange (Moringa 164 mg, orange 46.9 mg)”

WOW those have grown super quick, are you feeding them with your magical seaweed extract?
Tee-hee! Actually, I didn't cut the crusts off, but put them on the underside–away from the camera. :/ But you've gotta give me credit for knowing how to keep up appearances.I do have recipe books that instruct one to cut the crusts off; and even to mix a little mustard with the butter; and that sort of thing.Yes. I'm pretty highfalutin'! lol 😉 Well, it's moving into spring in your hemisphere,so maybe plant some after the frost is finished, and see if anything prospers for the summer months.
I do, actually, yes, pour that seaweed solution on them regularly. It's not very strong stuff–and sometimes I dilute it with extra water.I also make sure the moringas get a couple of hours of sun each day. My hanging upside down one has not grown so well as I realised it was getting too much shade under the greengage tree.I am now making sure it gets more daily sunlight. Still, I'll have to bring it in, at night, soon, as there'll soon be frosts. The ones in ground will have to fend 4 themselves.
Hi. Yes I am, but my father was a Ceylonese Burgher from Sri Lanka. Also, I have spent hundreds and hundreds of hours–reading and reciting aloud–so it does affect the way I speak, after awhile. Nice to hear from you! 😉
